General Bio:Rep. Calvin Schrage is a lifelong, third-generation Alaskan who was raised just up the road from Abbott Loop Elementary in the district he now represents. Last fall, he and his wife Heather were married and they now live in the home that Calvin grew up in. They look forward to starting a family of their own here in House District 25. Calvin is a graduate of the community’s local K-12 schools, including Abbott Loop Elementary, Hanshew Middle School, and Service High School. After high school, he stayed in Alaska to attend the University of Alaska Anchorage where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Accounting. After graduating from UAA, he moved on to the private sector where he now works as the Executive Director of Frontier Tutoring. Whenever possible, Calvin has worked to serve his local community and the city of Anchorage. He spent four years serving on the boards of the Abbott Loop Community Council and Anchorage Chamber of Commerce where he worked to address local issues ranging from community roads and projects to promote our local business economy. Calvin remains committed to serving the constituents of House District 25 and all Alaskans. In his freetime, Calvin enjoys flying as a private pilot, hunting, fishing, hiking, enjoying the great Alaska outdoors, and spending time at the family cabin in McCarthy. PS- From Calvin I am honored to call our community here on the lower hillside home. Whether it’s been the lifelong connections and friendships, the amazing community, or the willingness of neighbors to take care of one another in times of need, there is no place I would rather live and start a family. I am humbled to have earned the trust of our community and am honored to serve in the State Legislature.
