Representative Sarah Vance is a dedicated public servant, proudly representing House District 6, the Lower Kenai Peninsula, from Kasilof to the head of Kachemak Bay, in the Alaska State House. With a fervent passion for preserving the essence of “small-town” Alaska, she endeavors to foster a community that is safe, vibrant, and teeming with opportunities for all.

Representative Vance is recognized as a national leader on many important issues, but she is most concerned about the issues important to her neighbors and constituents. Rooted in Homer, where she is raising her family alongside her husband Jeff, Sarah’s connection to her hometown runs deep, having grown up just around the corner. Her journey into public service was shaped by her early experiences in Alaska’s fishing and tourism industries, alongside invaluable lessons learned from her family business.

Equipped with degrees in Small Business and Accounting from a local university, Sarah’s global adventures in mission work and entrepreneurship have enriched her understanding of community dynamics and needs. Over the years, she has been actively engaged in the governmental process, diligently researching legislation and advocating for accountability to better serve her constituents.

Currently, in her third term, Representative Vance holds pivotal roles in the Alaska State House, serving as the Chair of the House Judiciary Committee and the House Special Committee on Fisheries. Additionally, she serves as the Vice-Chair of the House Transportation Committee and contributes her expertise to the House Special Committee on Tribal Affairs and the Legislative Budget & Audit Committee. She is also an ex-officio member of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute Board and a member of the Governor’s Council on Human & Sex Trafficking, which is one of her top criminal justice issues.

Driven by an unwavering dedication to upholding the Constitution and representing the will of the people, Representative Vance’s experience and compassion make her an invaluable asset in her service to her community and the State of Alaska.
